DEMOGRAPHICS & DATA
Greater Findlay. Greater Opportunities.
The Greater Findlay region prides itself on being a high growth, dynamic community; an area with significant international business flavor and forward-thinking outside technology. The years of 2006 and 2007 provided outside recognition of what the community has always known… Greater Findlay is simply an ideal place to live and work.
In 2006 BizJournals.com listed Findlay, Ohio as a “Dream Town.” Close to 600 Micropolitan communities were named, with Findlay ranking in the top 100, the only Ohio city to rank within the top 100 Micropolitan communities. The study’s objective was to identify America’s most attractive Micropolitan communities (definition of micropolitan: areas that are smaller than metropolitan). It gives the highest marks to small, well-rounded communities where the economy is strong, traffic is light, the cost of living is moderate, adults are well-educated and access to big-city attractions is good.
While the state’s three largest cities account for more than 236,000 of Ohio’s 1.1 million industrial jobs, the city of Findlay ranks 6th in the State. “The Greater Findlay area job base remains strong and we continue to be a regional employment and retail hub for over 300,000 people,” said Russ Rogerson, Executive Vice President of GreaterFindlayInc. Industries within Hancock County report production levels stable or increased compared with 2005.
