GreaterFindlayInc.’s (GFI) Annual Foundation Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at the Findlay Country Club.  This year’s tournament will honor business leader and University of Findlay President, Dr. DeBow Freed.

Dr. Freed is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and a retired Army colonel. As former president of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill. and Ohio Northern University, Freed is credited for repairing academic curriculum and finances for universities in turmoil. At 83, Freed continues to be an active community member, campus life participant, and athletic supporter and is known for dining with students, attending daily events held on campus and supporting University athletics.

Beginning at 8 a.m., this first-class Foundation Tournament features networking opportunities, direct exposure and connection to the business community.  Donors of products or services will be featured in GFI’s marketing materials and also receive a range of “tax-deductible” sponsorships.

The golf tournament format will be team scramble, played in foursomes. Cost is $295 per person and includes a cart, 18-holes, driving range, meals, a complimentary ticket to the Crowning of the Champions Awards Ceremony, and a variety of gifts and prizes. All proceeds go to promote GFI’s pro-business agenda focus on companies large and small. Registrations must be made by August 21, 2009 to rsvp@greaterfindlayinc.com or at 419-422-3313.

Not a golfer? GFI is also looking for volunteers to help put on this exciting event. Find out how you can help!

To sponsor a product or service to be used towards a skill hole prize, participate, or volunteer contact GFI at 419-422-3313 or e-mail Dionne Neubauer at dneubauer@greaterfindlayinc.com.
